We had the lofty goal of going to visit another orphanage this morning but decided that we had traveled some on Sunday, and all day Monday-Wednesday and we just needed a break from sitting in the van for once. We decided to spend the morning completing our packing and just relaxing.
The head nanny received a phone call that she needed to go to the care center in the morning (we later learned this was on purpose). Her goodbyes to Gutu were precious. Lots of kisses and tears. She loves all of the children but I think held a special place in her heart for Gutu since she named him after her husband. Lisa and I choked up pretty good too.
We wrote all our thank-you notes and patiently waited for our Visa to arrive. I called Korsa and he confirmed that he had the Visa and the "special envelope" and would deliver them to us. When he arrived just after lunch, to our surprise, the other families from our agency were in the van. They were on their way to visit the orphanages that we weren't going to. This was good so they could deliver some more of the care packages we put together for the kids.
Lisa and I didn't have much of an appetite for our last meal. This was all due to travel jitters I'm sure. All the in-country hurdles are gone but now we're traveling with an infant half-way around the world. We're praying he's continues to be a good little baby for us.
